I am pleased to be able to share the news that my legal issues have finally come to a close. I did plead guilty to misdemeanor resisting arrest, a charge I never denied. I resisted because I had been defending myself and I kept trying to get the police to understand that they were arresting the victim, not the perpetrator. I was cleared of all other criminal charges. However, I would like to clear up a few misconceptions.
First of all, I was not high on cocaine and there were never any drug charges filed against me. Second of all, I did not break anyone's leg. As was stated in the District Attorney's complaint, the man in question was backing up, slipped on the curb and fell, breaking his leg. Third of all, I did not swing a metal crate at anyone. I used a plastic bread tray as a shield to protect myself from the men who were attacking me.
I want to thank all the people who believed in my innocence and who sent their love and encouragement to me. Your support helped keep my spirits up during a very difficult time.
