FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 10, 2015 UPDATE: The recovery of actor Nathaniel Marston, best known for his work on daytime television (ex-Al Holden, ex-Michael McBain, One Life to Live; ex-Eddie Silva, As The World Turns) has been a roller-coaster since he was critically injured in a single-car crash on Friday, October 30 in rural Nevada. His mother, Elizabeth Jackson, has been keeping friends and fans updated daily. Marston underwent surgery November 4, and doctors were initially positive about the outcome. However, in the early morning hours of November 5 his heart stopped on two separate occasions requiring doctors to use an external pacemaker to regulate his heartbeat. He remains in critical condition, fighting pneumonia, a heart infection and irregular pulse. The relatively positive prognosis which followed his previous surgery has dimmed. The damage to his vertebrae was extremely severe, and it is now believed that the hope of recovering upper body function was premature, and that Marston will most likely live out his life as a quadriplegic. Ms. Jackson, however, remains optimistic. A daily outpouring of support and prayers have bolstered her spirits, as well as those of her son, who is awake and able to mouth sentences since having the breathing tube removed from his mouth and relocated to his throat via a tracheotomy. In addition to his mother, Nathaniel has been joined by his brother, sister and father who flew to his bedside from Hawaii. One of the last major projects Marston worked on was the feature film “Walk A Mile In My Pradas”. When “Prada” co-writer and actor Rick Karatas learned of the horrific crash and Marston’s fight for life he reached out with an offer of help: Our thoughts and prayers go out to our friend Nathaniel Marston who was in a serious car accident and has a long road to recovery. He is truly talented, nice and was a pleasure to work with who went above and beyond for the film “Walk A Mile In My Pradas”. We would like to donate the proceeds from DVD sales (thru the PayPal link below) in the next several weeks towards the GOFUNDME account set up for Nathaniel.
